Occasionally milk was applied to create a luster effect on the glass. They ultimately have been named Kakamba Prosser beads, named once the city during the Republic of Congo where they had been traded. Prosser beads began to tumble outside of favor within the early 1900’s when additional elaborate glass bead designs have been released in Africa.
